Sean Hughes Signs as First Men's Coach

RKC Third Coast is excited to announce Sean Hughes has been appointed as the club’s new head coach of the Men's side.

Sean comes to us from Marquette University where he has been the Associate Head Coach of the men's team. He has been at Marquette for the past eight years.

"When meeting with Sean, he checked all the boxes of what we were looking for as our first head coach in franchise history. Strong local ties, D1 experience, previous head coaching stints, has recruited and developed MLS draft picks and the list goes on" states co-owner Wayne Howard.

As the first coach in the club's history, Sean is poised to set the foundation for all that comes in the future.

Louis Bennett, Marquette Men's Soccer Head Coach said, "Working with Sean the Associate coach at Marquette for several seasons, he has shown a great skill set as a coach, administrator and as important communicator. He’s a good person that cares and extremely dedicated to the game and his work in the game."

Additionally Coach Bennett states "Obviously he has worked with male players of college and USL2 ages and mentality so he is well versed in motivation, commitment and dedication of that generation

It’s an exciting hire for the Racine USL2 organization and Sean as a head coach"

The recently named MaxPreps/CBS Sports National Coach of the Decade and United Soccer Coaches Association Coach of Significance recipient has signed a deal to take the helm at RKC.

More important than the excellence he produces on the field, John is a great person" states co-owner Wayne Howard.
